Nicole Galea

Nicole is currently a specialist dance teacher at Eatons Hill State School, and most recently has implemented a Dance Extension program for high ability students. She is also a part of the Queensland Dance School of Excellence teaching faculty and a member of their Artistic and Advisory Committee.

Up until December 2012, Nicole held the part time position of Artistic Assistant with the Queensland Ballet and assisted in implementing and conducting the company’s educational and outreach programs. She danced with the company from 1994-2005, and performed in all of their productions including works by international choreographers, Stephan Thoss and John Neumier. For two years she also assumed the role of Rehearsal Assistant.

Prior to this she worked with N.A.P.A.C Dance Company in Durban, South Africa. A qualified Royal Academy of Dancing and Commonwealth Society of Teachers of Dancing teacher, Nicole also completed a Master of Arts (Research) and a Diploma of Education (Middle Years) with Distinction, at Queensland University of Technology.

Nicole is also a sessional lecturer and tutor at QUT within the Creative Industries, Dance Faculty.

It is an absolute pleasure to have Nicole attend our school as a guest teacher.
